Shekhar Pathak is a Himalayan traveler and historian. He has published a number of books, research papers and popular articles as well as edited 20 volumes of PAHAR. His recent work includes Hari Bhari Ummeed, which looks at the Chipko movement, the essay collection Mata Himalaya, Pita Himalaya and the soon to be completed The Idea of Opening of Himalaya.
