Prasenjit K. Basu is the author of Asia Reborn, which won the Tata Literature First Book Award (non-fiction) for 2018. He has written for The New York Times, Financial Times, India Today, Economic Times, Business Times (Singapore), New Straits Times, The Statesman and Swarajya, and commented on Asia’s economies on the BBC, CNBC, CNN, Channel News Asia and NDTV-Profit. Basu was Chief Economist for SEAsia & India at Credit Suisse, Chief Asia Economist at Daiwa Securities, Chief Economist at Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional and has held senior research roles at Maybank, Macquarie and UBS. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, ESSEC Asia Pacific and SP Jain School of Global Management (Singapore and Dubai).
