Chand Sur was born in 1925 in Bahawalpur, Undivided India and brought up in Quetta. Her married home was in Lahore. After Partition, she and her husband moved to Lucknow. An inventive cook, her latest book is The Lucknow Cookbook, co-authored with her daughter Sunita Kohli.
