Vikram Sampath

Vikram Sampath is a Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar winning historian and Senior Research Fellow at NMML. Dr. Sampath is the author of three acclaimed books, Splendours of Royal Mysore: the Untold Story of the Wodeyars, My Name Is Gauhar Jaan: The Life and Times of a Musician and Voice of the Veena: S. Balachander – A Biography. His book on Gauhar Jaan won the ARSC International Award for Excellence in Historical Research in New York, has been adapted to theatre by Lillette Dubey and will soon be a Bollywood film by noted filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. He was selected by President Pranab Mukherjee as a Writer-in-Residence at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in 2015 and is currently working on a two-volume biography of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
