Navin Chawla

Navin B. Chawla was a long serving Indian bureaucrat and served in various capacities until 2005 when he was chosen as Election Commissioner of India. He was subsequently appointed as India’s 16th Chief Election Commissioner in April 2009, a position he held until retirement. Chawla is also well renowned as the biographer of Mother Teresa.  Mother Teresa was first published in the UK in 1992 and has been published in various languages and editions since. He also co-authored Faith and Compassion, a life of Mother Teresa with pictures.
