Andrew Quintman is Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Yale University, specializing in the Buddhist traditions of Tibet and the Himalaya. He has written extensively about the literary corpus of the Tibetan poet Milarepa. His English translation of “The Life of Milarepa” was published in 2010. His latest book, “The Yogin and the Madman: Reading the Biographical Corpus of Tibet’s Great Saint Milarepa” won the American Academy of Religion’s 2014 Award for Excellence in the Study of Religion. He also co-directs a long-running workshop on Religion and the Literary in Tibet.
