What facilities/benefits do I get as a Festival Delegate?
  • An access badge that enables entry to the Festival Hub (Diggi Palace). Entry and seating at session venues is on a first-come basis.
  • Buffet Lunch at the Festival Hub. The Delegate & Author Lunch Area is located adjacent to the Front Lawns (19 – 23 January 2017).
  • Admission to all concerts at the Music Stage venue (Hotel Clarks Amer).
  • Buffet Dinner at Hotel Clarks Amer. Dinner will be served at the swimming pool area next to the main stage. (19 – 22 January 2017).
  • A free Festival tote bag with goodies including the Festival Brochure and Programme.
  • Access to the Delegate Lounge for those wanting to grab complimentary refreshments or take a break from the crowds. Delegates can also purchase meals at the restaurant located within the Lounge.
  • An invite to a ‘Festival Delegates Only’ session and cocktail evening on 22 January 2017.
  • Admission to two special Festival Fringe events at a heritage monument.
  • Usage of the evening Festival Shuttle Service from the Festival Hub to the Music Stage venue from 19 – 22 January 2017 at scheduled timings.
How much does it cost to become a Festival Delegate?

The Festival Delegate Package (per person) is:

Early Bird Offer – until 15 October 2016: INR 4500 per day or INR 18000 for 4 or 5 days (+Service Tax of 15% will be levied)

16 October 2016 to 18 January 2017: INR 5000 per day or INR 20000 for 4 or 5 days (+Service Tax of 15% will be levied)

19 January 2017 to 23 January 2017: INR 6000 per day or INR 24000 for 4 or 5 days (+Service Tax of 15% will be levied)

23 January 2017 (only): INR 2500 (+ Service Tax of 15% will be levied)

Service Tax refers to tax collected by the Government of India from service providers for providing certain services.?

In addition to the above, w?e will be ?offering a Diwali/Festival  Offer ?from 16 October until 15 November. This will be INR 4500 per day or INR 18000 for 4 or 5 days (+Service Tax of 15% will be levied) Basically, we’ll be extending the early bird offer but terming it differently. This will not be featured online right now but will be publicized closer to the date only. Do make the necessary changes in backend accordingly when the time comes. Please make a note of it.

Are there any discounts/special benefits if I’m a returning participant/delegate?

All Festival Delegates, new and returning, registering for five days can take advantage of our ‘5 for the Price of 4’ offer, where you’ll only have to pay for four days but can attend the Festival all five days.

Can I pick up my Festival Delegate pass/badge before JLF starts so as to avoid the queues?

Yes, pre-festival registration and collection of badges will take place from 15-18 January 2017 between 10am to 6pm at Diggi Palace, the Festival Hub.

Will I get access to the Authors’ Lounge if I am a Festival Delegate?

No, a Festival Delegate does not have access to the Authors’ Lounge. However, there is dedicated Festival Delegate Lounge for those wanting to grab a complimentary refreshment or take a break from the crowds. Delegates can also purchase meals at the restaurant located within the Lounge.

By registering as a Festival Delegate can I become a Speaker at the Festival?

No, a Festival Delegate is not a Festival Speaker.

What is in the Festival Delegate goodie bag?

A person registering as a Festival Delegate will receive an official Festival tote bag with some special surprises, including the Festival Brochure and Programme. The contents of the bag vary from year to year. The tote bag can also be purchased from the Festival Merchandise store should anyone be keen to do so.

Is access to the Music Stage venue included in the Festival Delegate package?

Yes, as a Festival Delegate you will have access to the Music Stage at Hotel Clarks Amer on the day/s that you have registered for.

What is the minimum age to register as a Festival Delegate?

The minimum age to register as a Festival Delegate is 12 years and above.

Can I attend the Writers’ Ball as a Festival Delegate?

No, invites to the Writers’ Ball are not included in the Festival Delegate package.

Are Festival Delegate passes transferrable?

Paid registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can I get a refund by returning a Delegate pass?

Are Press registrations separate from Festival Delegate registrations?

Yes, press registrations are for media persons officially representing print, broadcast and electronic media. Press personnel can choose to become Delegates if they are not covering the Festival.
