Vishwa Mohan Bhatt

Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt is one of the greatest musicians of our times who, along with a few others, has contributed immensely to popularising Indian Classical music across the globe. At the age of seventeen, Pt. Vishwa Mohan developed the western guitar and made it into a unique classical instrument called Mohan-Veena, providing new scope and possibility for a mellifluous fusion of Indian Classical and Western music. In the last fifty years, Pt. Vishwa Mohan has performed in more than eighty countries for almost all the prestigious music festivals and concerts in the world. He has been honoured with the Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, Grammy and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar, among numerous other awards.
