Suman Keshari is a distinct poetic voice in Hindi who is known for treating mythological themes and contemporary concerns with a holistic sensibility. She has published four collections of poems, with the latest being Nimitt Nahin (We Were Not The Cause), which articulates the anguish of women in the Mahabharata. She has also written a play called Gandhari and is currently working on another. Keshari has recently published a collection of ‘appreciations’ of important Hindi poems.
