Sudhir Hazareesingh is a Fellow in Politics at Balliol College, and a Fellow of the British Academy. He has written extensively about French political, intellectual and cultural history. His latest book, Black Spartacus: The Epic Life of Toussaint Louverture, won the 2021 Wolfson History Prize.
