Sudha Murty is a prolific writer in English and Kannada, whose books have been translated into all major Indian languages and have sold over 30 lakh copies around the country. She is the Founder of Infosys Foundation and during her tenure as its Chairperson, she has handled 16 national disasters in the last 24 years. Murthy is a columnist for English and Kannada dailies with 30 books and more than 250 titles to her credit. She has received nine honorary doctorates and is the recipient of the Rajyotsava Award from Government of Karnataka, Padma Shri from Government of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award, the R.K. Narayan Award for Literature, the Attimabbe Award from the Government of Karnataka for excellence in Kannada literature, and the Lifetime Achievement by Crossword Book Awards.
