Sooni Taraporevala is the writer of the films Mississippi Masala, The Namesake and the Oscar-nominated Salaam Bombay! amongst others. She also wrote and directed National Award-winning Little Zizou. Her most recent film as writer/director, Yeh Ballet, is a Netflix Original produced by Roy Kapur Films. Also a photographer, her work has been exhibited around the world and is in the permanent collections of NGMA, Delhi and the MET, New York. A Padma Shri, she is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
