Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi’s debut novel, The Last Song of Dusk, won the Betty Trask Award, the Premio Grinzane Cavour and was nominated for the IMPAC Prize. Translated into 16 languages, The Last Song of Dusk was an international bestseller. Shanghvi’s new novel, The Lost Flamingoes of Bombay, shortlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize 2008, was a number one bestseller. An exhibition of his photographic series, ‘The House Next Door’, opened in 2010 at Sweden’s Galleri Kontrast and showed at the Matthieu Foss Gallery, Bombay, India Art Fair, and Vadehra Art Gallery, Delhi. In 2014, along with Dattaraj Salgaocar he co-founded and directed Sensorium, an arts festival in Goa. Shanghvi contributes to TIME, The New York Times, Elle, Vogue and other publications. A recent curatorial project is bestselling writer and ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival co-founder William Dalrymple’s visual arts debut for a show, ‘The Writer’s Eye’. A book published by HarperCollins to mark the exhibition carries an introduction by Shanghvi. He most recently curated a show of photographs by American photographer Roger Ballen in 2016.
