Shekhar Seshadri

Shekhar Seshadri is a child psychiatrist and Former Senior Professor, Dept. of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, NIMHANS. With over thirty-five years of experience in the field, his work has extended beyond the clinical population to children and child care institutions/service providers across India and South Asia. He was an active part of national deliberations on the POCSO Act 2012 and more recently, the December 2015 Juvenile Justice Act. The NIMHANS Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Project conceptualised and initiated by Dr Seshadri, has now extended into the national initiative SAMVAD (Support, Advocacy and Mental health interventions for children in Vulnerable circumstances And Distress), supported by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.
