Sheila Dikshit is an Indian politician who was the Chief Minister of Delhi from 1998 to 2013. She is a member of the Indian National Congress. Dikshit led the Congress to three consecutive electoral victories in Delhi. She has many achievements to her credit including the ‘Bhagidari’ initiative, the Delhi Metro, CNG fuelled public transport, highly improved Delhi infrastructure and substantial reforms in the education, power and health sectors. In 2014, for a short period, she was the Governor of Kerala. Dikshit was the Chief Ministerial candidate for Indian National Congress in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Elections, 2017.
