Roy Strong

Roy Strong, a museum director, writer and diarist, was Director of the National Portrait Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Sir Roy has written 43 books ranging from those on the England of Elizabeth I to ones on garden design and history to two volumes of diaries covering the years 1967 to 2003. He was knighted for his services to the Arts in 1982 and made one of the Order of the Companions of Honour in 2016 for his services to the Nation’s Culture.
