Rituparna Neog

Rituparna Neog (they/she) is a queer rights activist and library educator based in Assam. As the Founder & Director at Akam Foundation, she works on education, gender justice, and advocates for a free public library system in India through the Free Libraries Network. Rituparna actively mobilises and organises the queer community in Assam, with a focus on rural areas. She played a key role in establishing the Chandraprabha Saikiani Feminist Library & Resource Centre and currently serves as a member representative from the northeast region to the National Council for Transgender Person, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. Of India.
