Nayanjot Lahiri

Nayanjot Lahiri is a Professor of History at Ashoka University. She has written scholarly monographs on ancient India and general books that have gained her a large following. Her acclaimed biography Ashoka in Ancient India (2015) fetched her the 2016 John F. Richards Prize in South Asian history. Lahiri's book on the afterlife of Ashoka, Searching for Ashoka – Questing for a Buddhist King from India to Thailand, has been published recently.
