Mishi Saran’s first novel, The Other Side of Light, was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Book Prize. A new edition of her acclaimed 2005 travelogue Chasing the Monk’s Shadow: A Journey in the Footsteps of Xuanzang was published in 2018. She is finishing a novel about 1930s’ Shanghai.
