Kishwar Desai is an award-winning author and playwright. Her biography on an iconic film actress, The Longest Kiss: the Life And Times of Devika Rani has just won the National Award for the best book on Indian cinema. Her first novel Witness the Night won the Costa award for the best first novel in the UK and Ireland in 2010. She is the chair of the trust which set up the world’s first Partition Museum in Amritsar. Now the trust is setting up a second museum on the Partition in Delhi, entirely through donations. She started her career in television and has written both fiction and non-fiction. She is now working on her seventh book.
