Forrest Gander, a writer and translator with geology and literature degrees, is the AK Seaver Professor Emeritus at Brown University. Recent books include Be With, a 2019 Pulitzer Prize winner, and the novel The Trace. Gander’s translations include Gozo Yoshimasu’s Alice Iris Red Horse and Then Come Back: the Lost Neruda Poems.
