Des Raj Kali is a Punjabi writer. His short story collections include Kath Kali (Stories of Kali), Fakiri (Mendicancy) and Yahan Chai Achhi Nahi Banti (Good Tea is Not Served Here). His novels are Antheen (Eternal), Pratham Pauran (First Puran), Shanti Parav and Shehar Vich Sahn Honn da Matlab (What It Means to be a Bull in the Town). He has also published research papers on the Ghadar Movement, the literature and culture of Punjab as well as gender and Dalit issues. Kali also edits the literary quarterly Lakeer.
