Chigozie Obioma was born in Akure, Nigeria. His two novels, The Fishermen and An Orchestra of Minorities were finalists for The Booker Prize and have been translated into more than 30 languages. They have won awards including the LA Times Book Prize, Internationaler Literarturpris, and have been nominated for more than two dozen others. He lives between Nigeria and the USA.
