Charan Singh Pathik is a prolific and acclaimed story writer from Rajasthan with a very deep understanding of grassroot politics and socio-economic structure of rural life. He works as a teacher in a government school and is closely associated with the gram panchayat activities. With more than four collections of short stories to his name, he is known for his bold authentic writings that root for the cause of the oppressed and the poor. Hindi feature films have been made on two of his stories, Pataakha by Vishal Bhardwaj based on ‘Do Bahnein’ and Kasaai by Gajendra S. Shrotriya.
