Speaker Cecile Rischmann at ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival 2018

Cécile Rischmann

Cécile Rischmann is an author and linguist who shuttles between France and India. Her flair for languages made her pursue a MA in French and thereafter she’s studied Italian, Spanish and Business English. Her love for the French language and culture helped her bag her first job with the French Honorary Consulate which led her to meet her French husband. Inspired by her inter-continental marriage, she penned her maiden novel The French Encounter, which delves into the East-meets-West relationship and brings out the comic-tragic elements in it. She then wrote a bitter-sweet musical Somewhere Over the Rainbow and dedicated it to her (late) mother who wanted to be a singer. Her next novel Visa to Paradise, about a young rebel being trapped in a psycho-spiritual centre is scheduled for 2018. Rischmann won the nationwide romance writing with her short love story ‘Jilted’, which was published in an anthology, An Atlas of Love, by Rupa Publications.
