Artemis Cooper is the author of Cairo in the War 1939-1945 and Paris After the Liberation 1944-1949, co-written with her husband Antony Beevor. She has written biographies of Elizabeth David, Patrick Leigh Fermor and Elizabeth Jane Howard, and is currently working on the cultural history of Paris.
