Arshia Sattar

Arshia Sattar has a PhD from the Department of South Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago and has worked with Hindu myths and epics and the story traditions of the sub-continent for over thirty years. He has translated the Valmiki Ramayana from Sanskrit to critical acclaim and has also written three collections of essays- Lost Loves: Exploring Rama's Anguish, Uttara: The Book of Answers, and Maryada: Searching for Dharma in the Ramayana. She teaches classical Indian literature at various universities here and abroad and writes about books in numerous magazines.
