Michael Bywater

Michael Bywater is a culture critic, commentator, broadcaster and writer. He has been columnist for the Times, the Independent, Observer and most other major newspapers. His books include Lost Worlds, Big Babies and The Chronicles of Bargepole. He has just finished the libretto of a musical and is now working on a book about fatherhood, loss and understanding, and another called 4Dogs, which is about four dogs.

A two-day taster of ‘the greatest literary show on Earth’

A packed programme of talks and performances animate four venues at the Library, celebrating South Asia’s literary heritage, oral and performing arts, books and ideas. Speakers confirmed so far include William Dalrymple, Meghnad Desai, Paulo Lemos Horta, Suki Kim, Ashis Ray, Suhel Seth, Preti Taneja and Shashi Tharoor.
