Jon Wilson teaches history at King’s College London and writes about modern South Asia and, increasingly, beyond. His most recent book is India Conquered. Britain’s Raj and the Chaos of Empire. He is currency writing a global history of democratic politics since 1945.

A packed programme of talks and performances animate four venues at the Library, celebrating South Asia’s literary heritage, oral and performing arts, books and ideas. Speakers confirmed so far include William Dalrymple, Meghnad Desai, Paulo Lemos Horta, Suki Kim, Ashis Ray, Suhel Seth, Preti Taneja and Shashi Tharoor.
