Tim Z. Hernandez

Writer, Poet & Performer

Tim Z. Hernandez is an award-winning poet, novelist, and performer. He is the recipient of the American Book Award for poetry, the Colorado Book Award for poetry, and the International Latino Book Award for historical fiction. His research has been featured in the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times and on CNN and NPR. Hernandez holds a BA from Naropa University and an MFA from Bennington College. He  is currently an assistant professor in the University of Texas-El Paso’s MFA Program in Creative Writing.
