Maina Chawla Singh is a Scholar-in-Residence at the American University in Washington, D.C. Singh teaches and researches Indian Diaspora communities. Her books include Being Indian, Being Israeli: Migration, Ethnicity and Gender in the Jewish Homeland and Gender, Religion, and Heathen Lands: American Missionary Women in South Asia. Singh has lived in Russia, Ethiopia, Israel, Japan, France, and the United States. Her current project focuses on Indian Americans in American Politics.
