The Jaipur Literature Festival 2020 Blogging Competition presents an opportunity for writers to submit creative pieces on the themes. The best of all entries received will be published on the festival website, leading up to the event.

15 DECEMBER 2019

10 JANUARY 2020

Word Limit

1000 WORDS

  • Environment

Climate change and the state of the environment are among the most critical issues of our time affecting health, lifestyle, economics, development and future world statistics. Blogs would need to bring to the forefront current narratives around the theme, action being taken or not taken and key activists and writers who are working towards positive change.

  • Economy

The world’s economy as well as our own country’s seem to be grappling with and adjusting to crises in industry, business, commerce, manufacturing, banking and AI, coupled with issues of poverty, healthcare, migration, and the internet which itself throws up a plethora of narratives for any economy. Blogs could focus on issues which are affecting economic trajectories.

  • Politics

Be it globally or on a domestic level, the last few years have been unpredictable. Some parts of the world have witnessed the breakdown of political centres while other regions are grappling with a lack of moral leadership. Are we in a period of historical transition? What does the future hold? Tell us what you think by writing about a subject you feel strongly about

  • Gender & Equal Rights

In a world where the immigrant question still has no real answers, where counties are scrambling to put together registers and seal borders, equal rights are a raging issue. Writings which highlight the present and the future for rights to become equal will make the mark.
