Kajol asks Ashwin why did he Ghost write his First Book

Upon being asked why he had his debut book, The RozabalLine,  ghost-written, Indian author Ashwin Sanghi told Kajol at the Jaipur Literature Festival 2016 that he holds a ‘Guinness Book of World Award for Rejections’ and counting the amount of rejections he had received, he reached the number 47. The only way he was able to keep himself going was through keeping a chart in front of him which noted the number of times iconic writers have been rejected.

“And then I had to self-publish…there was that entire fear in my mind that I am lousy as a writer,” noted Sanghi and said that he continues to have that fear. Because of the anxiety that was produced by the number of rejections, Sanghi thought that it would be wise to not use his own name in the book. “If anyone is going to throw rocks at me, saying that this guy is a lousy writer, then they will be throwing them at someone called Shawn Haigins rather than Ashwin Sanghi!”
