Raj Shukla is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad and the National Defence College, New Delhi. He has presented papers in seminars in India and abroad and lectured at the Defence Services Staff College, the Army War College, the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, the Naval War College, Goa, and the National Defence College, New Delhi. Lt. Gen. Shukla, YSM, SMis currently commanding a Corps along the Western Borders and is also a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), New Delhi.
