Sami Shah is a writer and comedian. He has been profiled in The New York Times and appeared on BBC Radio 4 as well as a panelist on QI with Stephen Fry. He has won multiple awards for his standup comedy. As a writer, his autobiography, I Migrant, has been nominated for the NSW and WA Premier’s Literary Award and the Russell Prize for Humour Writing. His novel Boy of Fire and Earth was released in 2017 and described as “a place of wonder and terror” by Kamila Shamsie. His most recent non-fiction work, The Islamic Republic of Australia, is a critically acclaimed investigation that combines history, comedy, and geo-politics. Shah is currently co-presenter of 774/ABC Breakfast Radio.
