The DSC Jaipur Literature festival is the largest literary festival in Asia Pacific. It is the most prestigious national and international literature event held in the country. The festival is free, and open to all. It encompasses a range of readings, talks, debates, performances, children’s workshops and interactive activities, which require a wide range of supervision and organization.Come be a part of our Team and help to organize the greatest literary show ever!
Working at the DSC Jaipur Literature Festival -
Helping with Transport:
The Transport department is hard work, often requiring volunteers to be on duty for 8 to 12 hours a day. However, it is also a exhilarating and stimulating experience as one is in charge of not only receiving and escorting authors, delegates and artists from the airport/ station to their hotels and venues, but also coordinating schedules of the authors for each day of the event.
Working in the box office:
The ticketing and box office team receive the public, check for id and register any members of the public or delegates if required. People skills, composure and a sense of humor are a must!
Working as a accommodation volunteer:
Receiving the various authors and artists at their respective hotels and facilitating their check-in and checkouts. Volunteer would be required to be stationed at the hotels to ensure that their stay is comfortable.
Help at the Music Stage:
The music stage at the Jaipur Literature festival features artists from all over the world in live performances throughout the course of the event. Volunteers will be required to assist in venue management, as well as be artist liaisons (being with them, ensuring their comfort etc.)
Working as an author liaison:
The well being of the authors is essential to the running of the festival. Volunteers will be required to work at the authors lounge, as well as receiving and collecting them to and from the venues. All Authors require constant supervision and volunteers in the liaison team would be assigned to specific authors to help them.
Be an event supervisor:
Event supervisors ensure the smooth functioning of all the events at the DSC Jaipur literature Festival. They are to be stationed at venues, the festival help desk, book signing and are responsible for helping the public with any problems or any festival related queries.
Coordinate Press and Media participation:
The press community is a large and important part of any successful festival. Press and media volunteers will ensure smooth registration of all media persons attending the festival, and will assist registered media with any problems or festival related queries.
Volunteers are assigned to one of the roles above based on qualification and experience. Please be aware that the festival does not provide accommodation to volunteers, therefore Jaipur residents will receive first preference for volunteer assignments.

All volunteer positions are un-paid, to apply please submit your resume with complete contact details and a 100 word paragraph of interest specifying what you hope to gain from this experience. Applications must be submitted by December 1st, 2012 for consideration.
