Is it necessary to register?

Yes, registration is required for all attendees, under the category of General (free), Festival Delegate (paid) or Press (accredited). All persons above the age of 12 years must register. Please visit the Registration Page to register.

What are the ways in which I can register?

A person can register online by filling and submitting the form available on the festival website. You may also choose to register on the ground.

Is there a registration fee for general participants?

Online general registrations from 1 June 2016- 17 January 2017 will be free.

On ground/on the spot registrations:

-Free registration and Festival Access Tag collection will take place from 15-18 January 2017, 10am to 6pm.

-A registration charge of INR 200 per person will be applied for those registering from 19-23 January 2017, 8am to 6pm.

Please note, should you damage or misplace your Access Tag, the registration process will need to be redone and a fee of INR 100 will be charged for replacing the tag.

How can I check if my registration has been successful?

You will receive a confirmation via email and/or SMS. Upon arrival at the Festival Hub, please present the code, email or SMS along with a valid photo ID card at the General Registration Counter to receive your Festival Access Tag, which must be worn at all times for the duration of the Festival.

Persons aged 12 years and above must be registered individually. Children under the age of 12 years may enter on the basis of their parents’ registration. Please carry a valid ID card (or photocopy) of your child.

All persons aged 12 years and above must register as a Delegate to enter the Delegates Only areas. Please carry valid photo ID cards of your children if they are accompanying you, irrespective of their age.

What facilities/benefits do I get as a Festival Delegate?
  • As well as granting admission to the ‘world’s greatest literary show on Earth’, perks include:
  • An access badge that enables entry to the Festival Hub (Diggi Palace). Entry and seating at session venues is on a first-come basis.
  • Buffet Lunch at the Festival Hub. The Delegate & Author Lunch Area is located adjacent to the Front Lawns (19 — 23 January 2017).
  • Admission to all concerts at the Music Stage venue (Hotel Clarks Amer).
  • Buffet Dinner at Hotel Clarks Amer. Dinner will be served at the swimming pool area next to the main stage. (19 — 22 January 2017).
  • A free Festival tote bag with goodies including the Festival Brochure and Programme.
  • Access to the Delegate Lounge for those wanting to grab a complimentary refreshment or take a break from the crowds. Delegates can also

  • Can I pick up my delegate pass/badge before the festival starts so as to avoid the queue?

Are there any discounts/special benefits if I’m a returning participant/delegate?

All Festival Delegates, new and returning, registering for five days can take advantage of our ‘5 for the Price of 4’ offer, where you’ll only have to pay for four days but can attend the Festival all five days.

Can I do group registrations for my organisation/school/college?

Yes, we do make this option available for your convenience. Please select the corresponding option when filling out the registration form.

What is School Registration/School Days?

School Registrations are exclusively for schools bringing their students to the Festival.
In 2017, the 19th, 20th and 23rd January will be allocated as School Days, wherein schools can bring batches of their students accompanied by teachers. All students and schools should pre-register online for free to ensure that you do not have to stand in long queues when you arrive at the Festival Hub. On ground registration will cost INR 100 per person.

School groups will not be allowed to visit on the 21st and 22nd January. Individual students with their guardians may attend independently with family and friends.

Please Note: All students must carry their school ID cards for security reasons.

What documents do I need to bring to the Festival?

Everyone (including children) is required to carry a valid photo identification of themselves (photocopies will be accepted), their registration code or a printed copy of their registration. Absence of any required documents may result in refusal of entry.
