Derek Mahon

Derek Mahon was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1941, studied at Trinity College, Dublin, and the Sorbonne, and has worked as a journalist and screenwriter in London and New York, where he also held academic appointments. He now lives in Kinsale, Ireland. He has received numerous awards including a Lannan fellowship. Recent titles include Harbour Lights (2005) and Life on Earth (2008).
