Manju Kapur and Tabish Khair in conversation with Ashok Ferrey

 

Two Indian English novelists, one from New Delhi, the other from Arhus, Denmark deal with power politics and radicalisation. Manju Kapur’s new novel, Brothers traces the history of the Gaina family from their village origins and Ajmer to the heights of political power in Jaipur. Tabish Khair, born and educated in Bihar, has written Jihadi Jane, a powerful novel about two Muslim girls who decide to join ISIS. In a session of discussions and readings, they talk to Ashok Ferrey about the context and inspiration for their works.
